เมื่อวันที่ 21 มกราคม 2556 เวลา 10.00 น. นายธัชชยุติ ภักดี เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงพนมเปญ พร้อมด้วยนางจีรนันท์ วงษ์มงคล อัครราชทูตที่ปรึกษาฝ่ายการพาณิชย์ ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะนายจอม ประสิทธิ์ (CHAM Prasidh) รัฐมนตรีอาวุโสและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงพาณิชย์กัมพูชา เพื่อแนะนำตัวอย่างเป็นทางการในโอกาสเข้ารับหน้าที่เอกอัครราชทูตไทยประจำราชอาณาจักรกัมพูชา และหารือเกี่ยวกับแนวทางการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจระหว่างไทยกับกัมพูชา

ในโอกาสนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้ยืนยันความมุ่งมั่นที่จะอุทิศตนเพื่อส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างไทยกับกัมพูชาในทุกมิติ ผ่านการมีปฏิสัมพันธ์ในระดับต่างๆ และการส่งเสริมความเข้าใจในระดับประชาชน พร้อมทั้งย้ำความปรารถนาดีของรัฐบาลและประชาชนชาวไทยทุกคนต่อรัฐบาลและประชาชนชาวกัมพูชา

ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้หารือเกี่ยวกับพัฒนาการทางเศรษฐกิจของกัมพูชาและทิศทางการพัฒนาของอาเซียนโดยเฉพาะการเป็นประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียนในปี 2558 ตลอดจนแนวทางการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจระหว่างไทยกับกัมพูชา อาทิ การส่งเสริมและการอำนวยความสะดวกสำหรับการค้าชายแดน โดยเฉพาะความร่วมมือด้านผลผลิตทางการเกษตร รวมทั้งความเป็นไปได้ในการจัดทำความตกลงเว้นการเก็บภาษีซ้อนในอนาคต ซึ่งจะเป็นปัจจัยหนึ่งที่ช่วยส่งเสริมการลงทุนจากไทย

On 21 January 2013 at 10.00 hrs., H.E. Mr. Touchayoot PAKDI, Ambassdaor of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Mrs. Jiranun WONGMONGKOL, Minister Counsellor (Commercial Affairs) of the Royal Thai Embassy, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. CHAM Prasidh, Senior Minister and Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to make an official introduction upon his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

During the meeting, the Thai Ambassador pledged to work closely with the Ministry of Commerce of the Kingdom of Cambodia to strengthen Thai-Cambodian relations in all areas as well as promoting understanding between peoples of the two countries while affirming the good will of the government and the people of Thailand towards the government and the people of Cambodia.

Also discussed during the meeting are ways and means to promote bilateral cooperation in the area of trade in light of the realization of ASEAN Economic Community by 2015.  Both sides re-affirmed their commitment to work closely together to facilitate bilateral trade and overcome any hindrance that may occur.  The Thai Ambassador also expressed his wish to start discussion that may lead to a future negotiation of the Agreement on the Avoidance of Double Taxation which, when concluded, will help attract more Thai investors to invest in Cambodia.
